Closers: Where have all the cowboys gone?

Visits: 4  Photo Taken from Zimbio This article was written by Brian Jones & provided by Feed Crossing. One of my favorite baseball memories was several years ago when I was taking a group of high school students on a mission trip to Mexico. We flew into San Diego and on our layover we caught […]

Baseball’s Record Setting Pace…Here and To Come

Visits: 0It’s been a busy year in the big time record breaking (and setting) department around Major League Baseball. Derek Jeter became the 28th member of the 3,000 hit club in July, and is rapidly climbing up the list still (he currently sits at 20th all-time in total hits). Jim Thome hit his 600th home run in August with the Minnesota Twins, […]

Two Historic Pitchers Retired This Off Season And Their Press Conferences

Visits: 0 Trevor Hoffman Calls It Quits So, after the trials of the 2010 season where Glenn’s little brother saw himself loose his job as the closer for the Brewers for a while, yet rebound and still get his 600th career save (most ever), he decided to hang ‘em up! Here is the video of […]

2010 Brewers Reflection: What Happened?

Visits: 0As the 2010 baseball season winds to an end, it is time to check on how this season has gone and take a look at a few burning questions that are likely to be answered between the end of the season and the beginning of 2011. It seemed that it was just yesterday that […]

SOME RANDOM THOUGHTS

Visits: 1With so much going on this post is dedicated to a few stories that need worthy comment. Here we go: THE PIRATES OUTDO EVEN THEMSELVES! As if it isn’t bad enough that this woeful team is on pace to lose 100 games for the 8th time in franchise history, and post a record 19th […]

The 1% Factor: How The Brewers Can Defy The Odds And Make A Run

Visits: 0As the Brewers end the first “half” of play and come out on the other end of the All-Star Break, the following question popped into my mind: Can The Brewers Defy a 40-49 Record and actually make a playoff run? The one good thing about hope is that it cannot be killed (no matter […]

THIS WAS A WEIRD WEEK

Visits: 0THIS WEEK’S TOPICS Gonzalez Dismissed, Hoffman Just Dissed We begin with the news that the Marlins dismissed Manager Fredi Gonzalez as manager. Delusional owner Jeffrey Loria thinks he can re-create 2003 simply by changing leaders. Remember, this is the guy who fired Joe Girardi after his Manager of the Year season simply because Girardi […]

Some Thoughts on the Brewers’ April

Visits: 1Well, we’ve got one month of play under our belts, time to check in on how the Brewers did. What Went Right: The list in this area is smaller than I would like it to be. As always, the Brewers have shown they have the potential to pile up runs at will (as evidenced […]

Top 8 Free Agent Relief Pitchers This Hot Stove Season

Visits: 0 Image via Wikipedia For many teams, especially teams that are successful in the postseason, success is predicated on a solid bullpen. However, while stalwarts like Mariano Rivera and Trevor Hoffman grab headlines and notoriety, as a whole, bullpen arms are significantly more volatile than the two legendary closers. Bullpen arms, especially middle relievers, […]

Brewers Solid Through 32 Games

Visits: 5At 18-14, and having won 16 of their last 21 games, the Milwaukee Brewers are quickly making their fans forget about their 3-8 start and have them thinking more about a return trip to the post-season. While it shouldn’t be overlooked that this team is 11-12 against teams above .500 and is 5-0 against […]

San Diego Padres Off Season Report

Visits: 0Season Wrap Up Like most of the NL West, the Padres had a disappointing 2008 season going 63-99, the third worst record in baseball last season! Who would have thought that the Giants would finish higher than San Diego at Spring Training last year? I for one did not even think it possible. Granted, […]

Indians Focus on a Closer for 2009 and Beyond

Visits: 4After experiencing a closer by committee position last season, the Indians seem to be attempting to solidify that spot on their team with a former All Star during the off season. The Indians have surprisingly become one of the teams that are vying for some of the major free agent closers in the game […]

Write For Us

So, if you clicked the link that brought you to this page you are interested in finding out about writing for Baseball Reflections. We cannot pay writers at this time.

We require a commitment of at least one article per month, but will gladly take more if you so choose. You can write a reflection on one of the 30 MLB teams, a regular column, opinion piece, review (book, movie, stadium or product) or on baseball in general.

We do not have a minimum or maximum word count, but we ask that articles do not go too long as to lose our readers attention. What you write about is up to you. All we ask is that it remains family-friendly.
Each writer is rewarded with a brief bio (2-3 sentences) about you with a link back to your site or other writing. This bio will appear at the bottom of each article.

We hope that you choose to write for us, but if you require more information or want to sign up already, please e-mail us at [email protected].
