What’s Brewing in the NL Central

Visits: 0[table=60] Cubs After the trades made by the Brewers, I thought they’d be closer than this, but it’s still early. The Cubs, as you can tell below, have a huge runs scored to runs allowed difference which can only speak volumes as to why they’ve got a 5 game lead at the moment. Picking […]

Sleepless in Seattle: MLB Style

Visits: 0[table=57] Seattle Mariners After an off season that saw Seattle trade their young and talented future CF Adam Jones, a 5-tool player, to Baltimore in a package for 29-year old Left-handed SP Erik Bedard, Seattle now finds itself with the second worst record in baseball (2 wins more than the Nationals). Although Bedard is […]

Baseball Links Exchange

Visits: 0This week’s selection is a multi-authored site called UmpBump.com: in-your-face baseball commentary. This is a fun, yet informative site that has a style all its own. Like the name of the blog hints at, they do get a little heated at times, but that just shows their passion for the game. By the way, […]

Who Wants to Win the NL West?!

Visits: 0 It seems as if no one in the NL West wants first place. It is truly sad when the Rangers would be in 1st place if after the All Star break if they were in the NL and they’re only 4 games over .500. No NL West team is above .500 as of […]

Baseball Links Exchange

Visits: 1This week’s link is another one that I can’t imagine why I had not done before now. The author of this week’s selection has recently taken his blogging more seriously as he went full time with it back in January of this year. The site is MLB  Trade Rumors and the creator is Tim […]

The Best Hitters Up to the All Star Break

Visits: 0 This one surprised me, I was expecting to see either Atlanta’s 3B Chipper Jones* or CF Josh Hamilton** of the Rangers on top of this list, but instead, we find Houston’s 1B Lance Berkman** just edging out Hamilton. In fact, Jones doesn’t even make this top 20 list as he has begun to […]

Baseball Link Exchange

Visits: 1 This week’s link goes out to one of my favorite concept blogs, The Nationals Enquirer. Nice play on words if you ask me. They claim to be “Your source for uninformed opinion, rumors, and misinformation about the Washington Nationals” (taken from their home page’s Who We Are section). I honestly can’t say that […]

On the Hot Seat!

Visits: 0The first firing of the 2008 season was Reds GM Wayne Krivsky back in April. Then in June we have seen the firing of Seattle GM Bill Bavasi and Mets Manager Willie Randolph, pitching coach Rick Peterson and first-base coach Tom Nieto. Now there’s rumors swelling around that Seattle is going to release 1B […]

Baseball Links Exchange: Phillies Nation

Visits: 0Now, while the Phillies may not be my hometown team, I’d have to admit that they are one of my favorite teams in baseball right now. If only the pitching on the whole was better, they’d be a beast in the NL East. With players like Howard, Utley and Rollins what’s not to like? […]

Who’s The Hottest Hitter AND Who Will Remain Hot

Visits: 0Who’s the Hottest? All the hype these days have been with second year player for the Texas Rangers, OF Josh Hamilton. Although his is a story that defies the odds, which makes his story the feel good story of the 2008 season so far, and in the NL you can look towards the current […]

Who’s Staying & Who’s Not?!

Visits: 0Who will remain in 1st Place and how long will they last? AL East Currently in first place is the Tampa Bay Rays. Although I think they are the real deal, this is too strong of a division for them to remain in 1st place by the All Star break. Likewise, I don’t envision […]

Baseball Links Exchange

Visits: 0Team Focus: The Florida Marlins   They are in First Place in the NL East right now so I thought this was the perfect time to do a shout out to them. Congratulations guys! It will be fun to see if this young team can hold it together like the D’Backs did last year. […]

Hottest Hitters per Position

Visits: 0Peter’s Fantasy Baseball Corner All of these stats are as of May 15, 2008 (almost a week ago), which was a month and a half into the season. Here’s a look at the hot fantasy hitters by position using a typical 5×5 fantasy scoring, but with the addition of OBP. The big surprises thus […]

Who’s the Hottest Hitter in Week 5

Visits: 3Oakland A’s: Jack Cust   Jack had 3 HRs this week, but only 4 RBIs while he hit .500 with an OBP of .600 and he scored 6 runs (3 of which came on his 3 HRs). A close second to Cust was Pirate’s RF Xavier Nady who went homerless this week but also […]

Hottest Pitcher in April

Visits: 1My vote goes to the Arizona Diamondback’s Micah Owings. He’s probably one of my favorite pitchers of the past two years, but I don’t get to see him play much being from the east coast. To go along with his much improved performance on the mound so far this year (4-0 with a 3.48 […]

HR Milestones

Visits: 20[poll=8] Pete’s Pick: My choice would be Ramirez because if he gets hot, he’s capable of hitting 10+ in a given month (although he needs 3 more than Griffey).

Opening Day at Fenway Park, 2008

Visits: 24Time: 1:10pm  Today’s events: ·         Red Sox World Series Ring Ceremony ·         Top Secret: Who will throw out the first pitch is being kept a secret, but after 2 World Series wins in the last 4 years, my prediction is exiled former 1986 1B Bill Buckner ·         Pitchers: Dice-K (1-0) –vs.- Kenny Rogers (0-1) […]

Pete’s Picks: NL West

Visits: 0NL West  This is a tight division overall and anyone can easily pull ahead of the pack, but they will need to improve without costing them security in another spot on the roster (see the D’backs with trading Jose Valverde).  1.      Diamondbacks : The difference makers here are the departure of SP Livan Hernandez […]

Pete’s Picks: AL West

Visits: 7AL West  1. LA Angels of Anaheim : In the long run, I like the Angels overall in this division. I like their bullpen especially with K-Rod, Scot Shields and Justin Speier. The additions of CF Torii Hunter & SP Jon Garland help put them over the top and Garland helps ease the pain […]

Pete’s Picks: NL Central

Visits: 0NL Central   1. Brewers: I think that they had a good team last year, but were too young to win the division, but with a year under their belts I think they have a shot at winning this division, that is unless Gagne pitches like he did in Boston last year. As a […]

Write For Us

So, if you clicked the link that brought you to this page you are interested in finding out about writing for Baseball Reflections. We cannot pay writers at this time.

We require a commitment of at least one article per month, but will gladly take more if you so choose. You can write a reflection on one of the 30 MLB teams, a regular column, opinion piece, review (book, movie, stadium or product) or on baseball in general.

We do not have a minimum or maximum word count, but we ask that articles do not go too long as to lose our readers attention. What you write about is up to you. All we ask is that it remains family-friendly.
Each writer is rewarded with a brief bio (2-3 sentences) about you with a link back to your site or other writing. This bio will appear at the bottom of each article.

We hope that you choose to write for us, but if you require more information or want to sign up already, please e-mail us at [email protected].
